Thank you so much to everyone for making the start to this endeavor such a success! Since this is the first time trying to do something like this, I knew that there was going to be a bit of a learning curve trying to get everything figured out, and I knew things would likely shift and change a bit while the season continued on. I want to take a moment and highlight some of the changes I’m looking at making to help create a better experience for all of y’all (and myself!)
As the season has progressed, we’ve had considerably fewer events submitted for our VG players. As a result, we are planning to change courses. We are looking to cease the VG leaderboard, and instead host Qualifier Events leading up to our invitational. The details of these events are currently still being worked out, but the goal is to host between 4 and 6 qualifier events between April and May 2026, and the Top 2 players from each event will receive an invite to the final event.
In a similar vein to our VG changes, we’re looking at finding a different way to handle our remote region invites. We have not been getting consistent submissions from some of our more remote leagues, so we’re looking to instead host a small number of Qualifier Events in a number of our remote league locations. The winner of each of these events would then get an invite to the final invitational event.
Instead of doing the Community Challenge once a month, we will now be doing them once a quarter. This is both to give people more time to achieve the goal and to make sure that things are a little more spread out to make sourcing prizes and ideas for the challenge a little easier! As a result, the current January 2026 Community Challenge has now been extended to become the Q1 2026 Community Challenge. The player that submits proof of their participation in the most number of unique leagues from Jan 1, 2026 through March 29th, 2026 will get to take home the prize (details coming soon!)
I understand that this means that we will only have two more community challenges between now and the end of the season, but if this ends up being something people miss, we can always add more if there is interest in it!
Our initial look at hosting the invitational event was slating the tournament to take place in June 2026. While this is still the goal, as we begin to look at venue options and start to narrow in our search for a place that suits our space and budget needs, there is the potential that we may push the event back to July 2026. Once we have a more solid plan, details will be announced.
